In today’s hustle and bustle, where constant activity and productivity are often glorified, the importance of rest is often overlooked. We’ve become accustomed to pushing ourselves to the limit, sacrificing our well-being in the pursuit of success. However, this relentless pursuit of achievement comes at a cost. When we don’t prioritise rest, we become more susceptible to stress, burnout, and even illness.
In this “Dare to Rest” episode of An Audience of One, I explore the concept of rest and its profound impact on our lives. I delve into the challenges of recognising the need for rest, especially when we’re conditioned to constantly push through. I also discuss the difference between resting and giving up, emphasising that rest is not a sign of weakness but an act of self-care that allows us to replenish our physical and mental resources.
