Some words are serious because they help people name serious things. But, people, let us be careful not to become fluent in labels while lacking in discernment.
In this Omosa Journal (https://www.omosa.co.za/iron-sharpen-iron/labels-vs-discernment/), i am not interrogating the words themselves but rather some of the tendencies, behaviours, patterns, traits, etc. that often accompany the usage of such words.
The simple idea is that labels are quick to judge and discernment is slow to conclude.
We really need to think about the words we are using, why we are using them, and what long-term effect they have when we keep throwing them around.
My challenge to you this week:
Watch your words. Mind your words. Mind the person or thing before you label them
Before you name it, discern it.
And whatever you do this week, let it be pleasing to God.
One, Perfect Love.
